Ian McLagan

Ian McLagan (1945-2014) was an influential British musician, best known as the keyboardist for the Faces and the Small Faces. His primary genres included rock, rhythm and blues, and boogie-woogie. McLagan joined the Small Faces in 1965, contributing to their signature sound with his distinctive use of the Hammond organ and piano. Notable works with the band include classics like "Itchycoo Park," "All or Nothing," and the critically acclaimed album *Ogden's Nut Gone Flake* (1968). After the Small Faces disbanded, McLagan continued with the Faces, alongside Rod Stewart and Ron Wood, where he helped shape hits such as "Stay with Me" and "Ooh La La." He also had a successful solo career, releasing albums like *Troublemaker* (1979) and *Never Say Never* (2014). Beyond his work with these bands, McLagan collaborated with numerous artists, including Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, and the Rolling Stones, cementing his reputation as a sought-after session musician. His contributions to rock music, particularly in the late 1960s and 1970s, have left a lasting legacy, influencing generations of musicians with his unique keyboard style and songwriting.
